Abstract

|
It is generally accepted that digitalis increases the myocardial contractility in patients with congestive heart failure but in normal subjects, the effect of digitalis is controversial. The present studies were designed to examine the effect of digoxin in normal subjects by means of systolic time intervals. Twentyfive normal subjects were studied before and 3 hours after digoxin administration(O. 75 mg iv.) and 24 hours after digoxin administration (1. 75 mg iv. and peroral).
